Queen Victoria's bloomers sold for US$9000

The size of the underwear supports the theory that the Queen had become morbidly obese towards the end of her life.

Although deemed fit for a Queen, Victoria's knickers are extremely plain - save for a tiny embroidered crown and the initials "VR".

It was snapped up for US$9,000 by a Canadian buyer at a central England few months back.
